About Us   About Us Previous Page

Farris, McIntosh & Tremper was founded in 1959. The firm was originally named for its founder, Edward T. Hannan, and provided mechanical and electrical engineering services. Through the years we have expanded our services and evolved to meet the changing needs of our clients. Civil engineering and land surveying departments were added in 1962. In 1979, company ownership passed to employees of the firm and our name changed to Farris, Hatcher, Tremper, & Associates (FHT).

In 1999, FHT and McIntosh Associates, Inc. (MAI) merged. While both firms practiced civil engineering and land surveying, each brought unique capabilities to the partnership. MAI specialized in geotechnical engineering, environmental consulting, and construction materials testing. FHT's mechanical and electrical departments were celebrating 40 years of service. To reflect the history of both companies and our expanded services for the future, we incorporated as Farris, McIntosh & Tremper, Inc. (FMT).

The continuing goal of our firm, utilizing more than 220 years of combined experience, is to provide our clients with professional services that are accurate, timely, and within budget. Our staff includes Licensed Professional Engineers, Licensed Professional Land Surveyors, Mechanical Engineers, Engineering Technologist, CAD Designers, Survey Crews, Laboratory Technicians and Field Technicians. Key employees individually possess 16 to 38 years of experience in consulting engineers.

We strive to serve our customers with a standard of care that will earn and keep their trust. We want to develop client relationships that are mutually beneficial and enduring. New markets for our services are desirable but we are proud that most of our work is attained through repeat business and referrals from satisfied customers.

If your next project requires professional, dependable service, call us. We will be pleased to provide a proposal for engineering services and a statement of our qualifications.
